For a test name, I wonder if the base name could be used. e.g., query
multi.surbl.org for a 127.0.0.2 A record . This is completely out of
band in the sense that you wouldn't accidentally trigger it because of
something in a message body. OTOH it might add other difficulties such
as when having the base name point to a website. Sorry if this has
already been brought up; I indeed have read everything, but probably
haven't memorized it all.

Another thought (not out-of-band, but also not likely to be hit)
is the name '.' .. e.g :

   % host '\..geezer.org'
   \..geezer.org has address 127.0.0.2

But for something simple, just 'test' doesn't seem all that bad.
